BrightCourse is an amazing program we use to educate and empower young women and men. Expectant mothers and fathers can “earn” brand new items and necessities for their new baby by learning tips and information about having a baby and/or being a parent. The program pairs the young woman or couple with a mentor to meet with each week. Every class taken results in earned parenting money. Completed homework earns more money. This money is used to purchase items in our baby boutique. Everything in our baby boutique is brand new; cribs, car seats, strollers, clothing, diapers, health kits, and much more.
Coaching is a client/coach partnership. Together we engage in a dialogue of self discovery, alignment of values and expansion of identity. The designing of intentions, goals and action steps is generated from the client to ensure their identified change is desired, achieved and sustained. Coaching assists people in not only imagining a greater reality but claiming and living that reality from the inside out.

Brighter Beginnings is a free home-visitor program that relies on trained volunteers to offer support to every family with a new baby. The first few months postpartum can be exhausting for parents, as they recover from birth. Many suffer from sleep deprivation, loneliness, and feelings of being overwhelmed. Often called the ‘fourth trimester’ because of the amazing transition that babies undergo in their first months outside the womb, the postpartum period is an intense and unique phase in the parenting journey. For many families, it can be a time of transition for every member of the household – baby, parents and caregivers, and older siblings. You may find that these months– with their sleepless nights and lack of daytime schedule — can feel isolating. Stress and isolation put parents at greater risk of postpartum depression, which is the most common complication of pregnancy, and can affect any parent. The first few months after baby’s birth is a critical time when parents and their babies bond and establish lasting family relationships. A little extra help from a caring, trained community member can go a long way during this time. Community volunteers are trained to bring respite, support, and companionship to parents and caregivers during the tender postpartum period.
We would also like to thank this mystery donor. All these brand new hooded blankets were left outside our door. They are so warm and snuggly - thank you so much to whoever donated these.
TLC has many wonderful classes for new and expecting moms. There were some things that i never knew that i now can implement with my little one thanks to TLC! Their Baby Cafe is amazing and SUCH a great support group for new moms who are nursing. I had some issues in the beginning with my daughter and getting her to latch right. The people there have always been SO support of anything i have needed and are honestly so invested in you and your babies lives. They truly care about you. Such a safe place and its so welcoming. I will forever recommend Hastings TLC to anyone who finds their pregnant or are expecting! So much good in such a great place! Thank you, TLC!
TLC has helped me threw both of my pregnancys. I'm excited that they now offer baby cafe and so many other new things. they are some of the most supportive people I have ever met. and I wouldn't be the parent I am today without them !
I remember when they were first opening & had their big Baby Shower and how I was so excited but when I came to them shortly after that & had my twins, it was nothing like I expected & I was disappointed. I stopped again a couple of years later after I has my next baby and same thing. I was frustrated. Recently Andrea came to speak at our church and I got the pleasure of meeting her in person and then spending some time with her that same week and it was such an amazing opportunity. I'm glad she & I were both at my church that morning and I didn't walk away because of my feelings from previous experiences. This meeting has opened new doors for me and my new baby and I can't wait to see what is in store for our future. Thank you Andrea.
My favorite thing offered at TLC is baby cafe. I’ve received amazing support throughout my breastfeeding journey and have also been able to meet fellow moms! Not only do they offer breastfeeding support but they have all kinds of other classes. It’s a great community and is so supportive during pregnancy and beyond.
I come here on Thursdays mornings for their baby cafe. It’s a breastfeeding support group with a certified breastfeeding specialist. Sometimes I have questions & need help, and other times I come just to chat with other moms, snack & hangout! It’s a comfortable place & I look forward to Thursday’s because of this!
